December 14, 2022, San Bernardino, California – The UAS Center at SBD announced today the launch of its autonomous systems research associate program in collaboration with Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. The UAS Center at SBD will provide experiential learning opportunities that integrate knowledge and theory learned in the university classroom with practical application and skills development in a professional environment.
A recognized leader in unmanned systems curriculum, “Embry-Riddle launched the first accredited UAS program in the country,” notes Kimberly Benson, Administrator of the UAS Center at SBD. “We are pleased to provide Embry-Riddle students a unique opportunity to sharpen their skills, expand their career horizons and cultivate meaningful professional connections.”
Given the tremendous growth of autonomous technology in Southern California and the fact that SBD continues to be a key logistics hub, “cooperation with the UAS Center at SBD makes strategic sense for Embry-Riddle,” states Darren Hudak, Embry-Riddle’s Assistant Director of Career Services & Corporate Relations, College of Aviation and School of Business. “In addition to our partnerships with the FAA, NASA, Amazon, Boeing and Fedex, this addition of our new research associate program with the UAS Center at SBD will position our students for leadership and advancement in this critically important field.”
